Refunds & cancellations
Last updated 19 October 2026
Your course starts at once
Your course starts as soon as you pay. At checkout you agree that it starts straight away and that you then lose your 14-day right to cancel (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, regulation 37). Your order email confirms this, with the words you agreed to and when.
Tea for two: the second place
With Tea for two your own course starts at once, but the second person's course starts only when they claim their place. While nobody has claimed it, within 14 days of your purchase, you can take back £4 (the price of Tea for two less a full course) in one click on your course settings page. The place then closes and its invite link stops working. Your own course is not affected.
If something doesn't work
If any part of your course does not work as we describe, tell us and we fix it. If we can't fix it within a reasonable time and without real inconvenience to you, we refund you, in full or in part depending on the problem. If you prefer, we can give you extra time instead. Tell us at the address below, or report a question on the question itself.
Top-ups
A top-up can be bought in the last 14 days of a course, or after it has ended. Its 30 days are added to the end of your course. If your course has ended, they begin at once. If it is still running, they begin on the day it would have ended, and until then you can cancel the top-up for a full refund in one click on your course settings page. Once its days begin, it can't be cancelled.
Bought twice by mistake?
If you bought a second course while the first was still running, one click on your course settings page within 14 days refunds the second one.
Nothing to cancel
Nothing renews, so there is nothing to cancel.
Refunds and card disputes
A refund, or a card dispute that is decided against us, ends that course (or takes away the time it added). For Tea for two it also ends the second person's course, or the unclaimed place.
The GOV.UK test fee
We never charge, pay or refund the £50 GOV.UK test fee.
Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected.
How refunds are paid
Refunds go back to the card you paid with. Once we've sent a refund, it normally shows on your statement within 5 to 10 working days, depending on your bank.
